Summary: Ford Foundation’s West Africa Office seeks a proactive Program Officer to join the team driving social justice initiatives in West Africa. The role primarily focuses on gender-based violence prevention within the Gender, Racial and Ethnic Justice International Program. The ideal candidate should possess expertise in gender-responsive programming, social science research, and a deep understanding of the West African context, particularly in Nigeria, Ghana, and Senegal.
Responsibilities:
Manage grant portfolios, conduct grant planning, and oversee progress reviews with grantees.
Contribute to the development and implementation of team strategies aligned with regional and international program goals.
Facilitate grantee convenings, reflections, and learning and evaluation activities.
Represent the Foundation to various stakeholders and serve as a mentor to team members
Qualifications:
Minimum 8 years of experience in leading social justice strategies.
Master’s degree or equivalent experience in a related field.
Subject-matter expertise in gender-based violence prevention.
Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
Deep understanding of regional context and cultures.
